“When I think of someone that is young, I think of a person that is still trying to find their footing, experimenting, learning the world, etc.”

To me, BEING Young & Twenty is the most contradicting combination of words and hear me out!.

When someone says they are in their 20’s, people immediately expect you to be mature, successful, accomplished, and a plethora of other words describing the adult you’re now supposed to be. However, on the flip side, those same people will look you dead in the eye and still call you young … it doesn’t make any sense.

When I think of someone that is young, I think of a person that is still trying to find their footing, experimenting with different things, learning the world, etc.

And at 25, I feel that exact way. I may have a time stamped on my forehead that says I’ve been on this earth for 25 years but that doesn’t automatically turn me into that mature successful adult that most think or expect me to be.

I’m still trying to figure myself out, find my passions, and in general, just look like I’ve got my shit together.

I sometimes feel the clock ticking in the background but I remind myself that just because most people might want me to rush into being an adult, I am taking my time. I am fully embracing and enjoying what it means to be both YOUNG and TWENTY.

I’m trying to look like I’ve got my shit together.

Perfectly Polished – Updated Skin Care Routine

Beauty, Essentials, LUSH, Skin care

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying this new year! And speaking of … I thought what better way to start the new year than to provide you guys with updated version of my skin care routine! Over the past year or more, I have done a lot of experimenting! I made it a point to test a ton of new products to really find the right combination. I also had to do some reevaluating on my own thoughts on skin care and not be afraid to try products that stated they were  “hydrating”, “moisturizing”, or contained oils. I know I know, I was one of those people that thought using those types of products would send me down a long road laden with breakout after breakout however, I overcame my fear and now I search left and right for products to add that extra little bit of moisture to my skin. When I finally finished my testing I was left with a few stand outs (and believe me I am always continuing to experiment) that I found have worked great on my skin.

So, without further a due, here are the products I have been using in my daily skin care routine.

img_6285

Garner Skin Active Micellar Water ($9)

As most, if not all of you know, micellar waters are absolutely amazing! On a day when I have been wearing makeup, I always start my skin care routine with this stuff. I grab a couple cotton pads, soak them in the solution, and then wipe away the day. This product doesn’t contain any oil so it won’t make your skin feel super greasy and it is incredibly gentle on the skin. Also, I sometimes like to use this stuff even on days when I’m not wearing any makeup and don’t feel like going through my whole skin care routine to remove any dirt or grime that might have built up throughout the day. It’s the perfect refresher!

img_6290

Nuxe Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel ($19)

Next, I reach for this Nuxe facial cleanser and make-up removing gel. What I love about this product is that on top of being a soap free facial cleanser, it also serves as a makeup remover. Meaning, whatever the micellar water didn’t get grab before, this stuff is sure to remove it! Next, being that this cleanser is made with honey and comes in a super soothing gel form, it works great at adding softness to my skin and never leaves me  expereincing that tight skin feeling after washing like I have with other cleansers.

img_6287

Pixi Glow Tonic ($15 -$29)

Moving down the line, after cleansing, I follow up with Pixi’s Glow Tonic. Among many things, this product is not tested on animals, alcohol free, and contains hydrating and soothing aloe vera. Although I am not a big fan of the smell, this product is a great toner for someone like me who has sensitive skin. As for the name “glow tonic”, it comes from the fact that this product also contains ginseng and fructose that serve to “tone, tighten, and remove dead skin cells to reveal brighter, healthier, and younger looking skin.”

img_6286

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($6-$42)

Finally, the last step in my skin care routine is to obviously moisturize. I like to bounce back and forth between this one (as my day time moisturizer) and Lush’s Full of Grace facial serum/moisturizer (featured below as my night time moisturizer). At first I was a bit apprehensive to use this moisturizer because I thought that it was for sure going to be far too heavy on my skin but boy was I wrong! I always struggle with dry patches during the winter and this is one of the only products I have found that really help my skin to feel hydrated and supple. It soaks into the skin with ease and doesn’t leave unwanted excess.

img_6288

LUSH Full of Grace Facial Serum/Moisturizer ($16)

Though Full of Grace is found under serums section on LUSH’s website, it is described as a solid moisturizer. As I mentioned, I like to use this product from time to time but mostly as my night time moisturizer because it is a much thicker product. Similar to that of LUSH’s massage bars, this product will melt on contact with warm skin. Therefore, you need only warm it up a bit in your hands to gather some of the product, then apply it all over your face. Containing “hydrating tropical butters, calming chamomile and antioxidant rich mushroom extract, this product creates a soothing treatment for the delicate skin on your face, helping you to maintain its elasticity, moisture and glow.” Finally, I will say that every time that I apply this product to my skin at night, I wake up  the next morning to my skin being incredibly soft and looking amazing!

Left to Right: Ultra Repair Cream, Glow Tonic, Honey Cleanser, Full of Grace, Micellar Water

So, I hope you guys enjoyed my updated skin care routine. If anyone has used any of the products I mentioned, please let me know how you like them or feel free to recommend any new products I should give a try!

What I got for Christmas (Hint: It’s not what you think!

2016, Christmas, Gratitude, Happiness, Life, Positivity

img_6236

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and for those of you don’t celebrate, than I hope you got to enjoy some quality time with the family. Speaking of family, today I wanted to touch on something that too many of us tend to forget around this time of year what with the amazing sales around every corner and the pressure to get the perfect gift, and that is gratitude.

All over social media, blogs, Youtube, you name it! People are highlighting what they got for Christmas. Showcasing the hottest purses or electronics, the holiday season always seems to put the spotlight on material goods. Not very often do you see somebody ever mention anything beyond that. Therefore, I think it is especially important for everyone this season and moving forward, to take a minute or two and practice the simple art of gratitude.

Was it valuable time with a family member you haven’t seen in a while?  Was it enjoying some laughs with your siblings remembering that time you de-pantsed your brother in from of the whole family? Or was it just the fact that you got to sleep in a nice warm bed with a roof over your head? Even if it was something as simple as being able to wear your favorite sweater, the littlest things still count.

So go out there and get yourself a nice journal, take the 5 mins every morning or evening or whenever you have time to write down a few things you are gracious for and watch your outlook change. It’s one small step everyday to be humble. What are you waiting for?

Mask Me Beautiful

Beauty, Face Masks, Fresh, LUSH, Origins, product review

img_6192

Hello Everyone!

So for todays post I decided to tackle a topic that I have always been familiar with but never actually practiced and that is the art of face masks. I know people recommend you use a face mask (of course depending on what it’s being used for) at least 2-3 times a week. I however, didn’t follow this rule and rarely incorporated face masks if at all in my skin care routine. Although it has taken some time, I have since changed my ways and now try using face masks on the regular. Here are three in particular that I have been game changing for me and my skin.

img_6184

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Face Mask

Where have you not seen this mask be featured? I mean from YouTube beauty gurus to fashion magazines this product is the like Jennifer Lawrence of the mask world. I got this beauty in a small travel size version along with three more of origins classic and best selling face masks. Although I have yet to try them all out, I knew this one had to be first. What I love the most about it is that it is an overnight face mask. Leaving it overnight really allows the product to seep into your skin and work its magic. After my normal skin care routine, I apply this all over my face, dab off any excess and go to bed. The next morning, I awake to find my skin soft, supple and breakout free. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a little more hydration in the winter months or for those who have naturally dry skin year round.

img_6188

LUSH Mask of Magnaminty

Ahh … another classic beauty favorite. Mask of Magnaminty is one of those masks that I would recommend everyone give a shot at least once in their lives. With its punch of peppermint to awaken the senses, china clay to draw out impurities, honey to calm and soothe the skin, and the duel action of the ground up aduki beans and evening primrose seeds to exfoliate, what isn’t to love about this mask?  I would recommend this mask to pretty much anyone in need of a nice cleanse and refresh to their skin. Although, I would recommend for those with sensitive skin, not scrubbing too hard when removing the mask and following it up with a hydrating moisturizer or serum.

img_6190

Fresh Rose Face Mask

I am a big, huge, jumbo fan of anything rose scented. Call me an old lady or whatever you’d like but I can’t help it. So, when I got this mask as part of Sephora’s birthday gift, I was beyond thrilled. Not only is this mask like smearing a fretting ground up rose all over my face, it also serves to hydrate and tone the skin. Two things that I am in desperate need of when is cold, dry, and moisture sucking winter. One thing I love in particular about this mask is that if need be, it can be used daily. If a full size container wasn’t so expensive, at $62 a pop, I would definitely go out tomorrow and purchase a full size. Unfortunately though it is, so I will be having to use this little guy sparingly.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post/review of the current masks I have been using and loving. Please let me know if you’ve used any of the ones I have mentioned or plan on purchasing some in the near future. And again, as always, don’t forget to Like, Comment and Subscribe!

Makeup Essentials 2016

Beauty, Benefit, Essentials, Highlighter, Laura Mercier, Makeup, product review, Revlon, Tarte, Too Faced

img_6162

Hey Guys, Girls, Everyone!

It’s been a while and I decided what better way to return than to start where I began, with makeup! I decided that with this year fast approaching its close, I would feature some of the makeup I’ve recently discovered and been loving this year.

img_6157

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation in Fair Light Neutral ($39)

I was a big fan of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay powder foundation. I loved the way it looked on my skin and I never felt like I was wearing any foundation. However, when I ran out of that and in need for a new foundation, I decided instead of purchasing another container I  would change things up and go liquid. So, like any girl in need of some makeup assistance, I went to my local Sephora store. There, I tried several different samples of every kind of liquid foundation they had. I knew I wanted a foundation that wouldn’t cling to my dry spots (it’s winter now and my skin is not happy about it), would include SPF and would provide light to medium coverage.

img_6139

Funny enough, after my store-wide search, I found myself back at the Tarte section and staring at a bottle of the Rainforest of the Sea foundation. Upon trying it on, I was in love. It is a water base foundation which is a definite a plus for me since it didn’t feel heavy or suffocating on my skin and it was a perfect match to my skin tone. Being on the paler side, I sometimes find it hard to get a foundation that doesn’t add to the paleness of my skin and wash me out entirely so purchasing a light shade that still allowed me to maintain my natural skin color was yet another bonus. Although, I haven’t been using this foundation for long, I do know that every time I wear it it makes my skin look like just the right amount of dewy and not in the just got done at the gym way or in the i”s it hot in here?” way but in the hey girl hey way … you know? Anyways … I also feel like it gives great coverage and lasts the whole day. All in all I give it 8/10 stars

I guess I should have mentioned this first since it is a primer but hey, we’re here now. With this face primer all I can say is why didn’t I jump on the band wagon earlier. I would literally hear every beauty guru on YouTube rave about this stuff and read it in every fashion magazine. But me being me, I ignored it. Finally, while at Sephora during my thousand foundation hunt, I was persuaded to buy it. As I mentioned before, having dry skin during the winter is never a fun or pretty thing so getting a hold of this is a life saver. Not only does this stuff smell amazing! (if you like coconuts, which I do.) It also really feels hydrating and soothing on the skin. When I wear this stuff in combination with my Tarte foundation, my skin in honest the best I’ve ever seen it. There is active ingredients like coconut water and probiotics that provide much needed moisture to the skin leaving it feeling primed, refreshed, and rejuvenated to apply you makeup.  10/10 stars!

This baby has been my “go to” for a pretty good portion of the year. As you may know, I did a post a while back talking about all the highlighters I’ve used/own so I am no stranger to the game. However, I will admit, that this should have been one in my collection. The stick applicator makes it ridiculously easy to apply to just about anywhere on your face, while the creamy consistency allows you to glide it over your skin like butter. It adds just the right amount of glow and is perfect for a not so “in your face” highlighter option. 10/10 stars!

img_6144

Benefit Cheekathon Blush and Bronzer Palette ($59)

What is there not to say about this palette … It includes nearly every one of the Benefit blushes and my personal favorite bronzer of all time, Hoola and it even includes a small travel brush. But by far the most mind blowing this about this palette is the price. I will be the first … ok probably not the first but one of the many people to say that it is A M A Z I N G! A blush or bronzer alone from Benefit costs $29 and in this palette you get five … I mean come on! In terms of use, I honestly have no other blushes or bronzers in my makeup bag aside from this palette. I use it every day almost and I can honestly say I love each and everyone of the blushes for their own reasons. I won’t go into detail now but maybe in a future post I will review each one individually. As for now, 10/10 stars!

I really hope you all enjoyed this review of my 2016 makeup essentials. Please let me know if you have tried any of the products I mentioned above or if you decide to go out and purchases them for yourself. But as always, don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe for more of me 🙂

European Adventures: My Experience in the Edinburgh Tunnels.

Beauty

Hey Guys! Welcome back.

Today I am featuring yet another video. It’s a bit different from what I normally post however, I wanted to start a series titled “My European Adventures” that highlight some of my crazy experiences abroad. In this video, I talk about my ghostly adventure in the infamously haunted Edinburgh Tunnels in Edinburg, Scotland. This experience is one that I will honestly never EVER forget!

Also, before watching, I want to give fair warning to the fact that this video does contain quite a few swears and freaking out about ghosts. I hope that doesn’t bother anyone. 🙂

I hope you guys enjoy! Also, please let me know if you’ve ever been to the Edinburgh Tunnels or just in general, if you’ve had any sort of paranormal experiences before.

My Hair Styling Products

Beauty

Hey Guys! Happy Friday!

This week in particiluar has just seemed to drag on! I’ll be more than happy when I can finally crawl into bed tonight and turn on a good movie.

Anyways, today I wanted to feature another one of my YouTube videos where I talk about the styling products i’ve been using and loving on my hair.

Having short hair has been something of a recent thing for me only having had it cut this way for about a year. Within this past year it has taken a lot of trial and error to find the right combinations but I think I’m finally starting to figure it out. Also, if any of you have some short hair tips I would love to hear them!

So, I hope you guys enjoy this video and let me know what you think!
