“When I think of someone that is young, I think of a person that is still trying to find their footing, experimenting, learning the world, etc.”
To me, BEING Young & Twenty is the most contradicting combination of words and hear me out!.
When someone says they are in their 20’s, people immediately expect you to be mature, successful, accomplished, and a plethora of other words describing the adult you’re now supposed to be. However, on the flip side, those same people will look you dead in the eye and still call you young … it doesn’t make any sense.
When I think of someone that is young, I think of a person that is still trying to find their footing, experimenting with different things, learning the world, etc.
And at 25, I feel that exact way. I may have a time stamped on my forehead that says I’ve been on this earth for 25 years but that doesn’t automatically turn me into that mature successful adult that most think or expect me to be.
I’m still trying to figure myself out, find my passions, and in general, just look like I’ve got my shit together.
I sometimes feel the clock ticking in the background but I remind myself that just because most people might want me to rush into being an adult, I am taking my time. I am fully embracing and enjoying what it means to be both YOUNG and TWENTY.
I’m trying to look like I’ve got my shit together.

So, it’s been a hot minute since my last post. Life happens and that’s why I wanted to share something a little different today.
I wanted to cover the real life side of what it’s like as a (somewhat) recent post college grad. These feelings are real and they capture how I’ve been feeling lately through my experience. This stuff hasn’t been and still isn’t easy and it’s definitely not all sunshine and rainbows. However, I can only hope that sharing this helps at least one of you out there who might be going through a similar thing and help you know that you’re not alone.
So, I really hope you guys enjoy and let me know in the comments if you want to see more videos like this or if you have any ideas for what you would like to see in general.
Lastly, as always, don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE!
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and for those of you don’t celebrate, than I hope you got to enjoy some quality time with the family. Speaking of family, today I wanted to touch on something that too many of us tend to forget around this time of year what with the amazing sales around every corner and the pressure to get the perfect gift, and that is gratitude.
All over social media, blogs, Youtube, you name it! People are highlighting what they got for Christmas. Showcasing the hottest purses or electronics, the holiday season always seems to put the spotlight on material goods. Not very often do you see somebody ever mention anything beyond that. Therefore, I think it is especially important for everyone this season and moving forward, to take a minute or two and practice the simple art of gratitude.
Was it valuable time with a family member you haven’t seen in a while? Was it enjoying some laughs with your siblings remembering that time you de-pantsed your brother in from of the whole family? Or was it just the fact that you got to sleep in a nice warm bed with a roof over your head? Even if it was something as simple as being able to wear your favorite sweater, the littlest things still count.
So go out there and get yourself a nice journal, take the 5 mins every morning or evening or whenever you have time to write down a few things you are gracious for and watch your outlook change. It’s one small step everyday to be humble. What are you waiting for?
It’s a brand new year and that means everyone is busy trying to stick to their new years resolutions and not eat that extra piece of chocolate cake. I thought I would follow the trend and set forth a few of my new years resolutions with a twist. Unlike the typical “go to the gym 5 times a week” goal, I want to try and aim for resolutions that help me reach my happiness from the inside rather than the outside.
I want to focus on reaching goals that help to add more positivity and light into my life. Nobody wants to look back on their resolutions and see that even though they walked away with that “hot bod” and never skipped on their diet they are still fairly unhappy. Now, I am not saying that working out is a resolution that doesn’t add happiness because it can, I am saying that sometimes we try fixing what we can directly see rather than what we might not be able to. We think if our jeans fit better we might be happier or if we stay away from chocolate we ultimately become better people but thats unfortunately not true. This year I want to learn to love myself without limitations or guilt. I want to learn that even though I don’t have a million dollars I am still successful.
So, with that being said, here are some of my new years resolutions for 2016:
- Try a 30 day yoga challenge (i’ve had my eye on one in particular: Yoga with Adriene 30 day yoga camp).
- Take time to meditate everyday if only for 5 mins.
- Read at least 2 new books every month.
- Learn to appreciate the little things by writing at least 2 things positive things that happened during the day.
- Keep my room CLEAN! (It sometimes gets hard to keep track of those piling clothes in the corner that you swear you’ll put away tomorrow but never do. I want to make sure that if I take out a few outfits to try on I put away whatever I don’t use right away.)
- Turn off electronics before bed. (This one is going to be the hardest for me. I love nothing more than to scroll through Facebook and Twitter endlessly before bed or watch countless Youtube videos but it no doubt hinders my quality or sleep.)
- Make time for myself. (This one sound pretty general but its probably the most important. I am the type of person that thinks about everyone else before myself. This year I want to focus on myself and my priorities first and foremost. Whether that be taking a break when I am over worked or stressed or just simply taking the time to pamper myself. It’s a simple fact that we too often let ourselves forget; we are just as important too.)
I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know what your resolutions are! I would love to hear them 🙂
Hello everyone, its been a while since i’ve posted and I would like to apologize. Like anyone…life happens. I was, up until recently, studying abroad for a entire year and a half in Europe. Only just a few months ago did I finally came back to the states to finish up my last semester of college. It’s been a huge adjustment being back to American life and to be honest I have been an absolute mess. Somewhere in the transition I lost my creative spark and started to look at things more bleakly. A lot of that had to do with the sudden pressures of my impending graduation. However, I am slowly starting to get back into the swing of things and by trying to rekindle my internal flame. I realized that I also want this blog to encompass more than just make-up and beauty. Even though it hasn’t been up for long, I want to create more dialogue and express who i really am. I hope you all can understand and continue reading. Thank you all.
